Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Matron to lead our nursing operations and ensure the highest standards of patient care across all departments. The successful candidate will oversee nursing staff, maintain quality standards, and ensure compliance with NABH and SA8000 protocols while upholding our commitment to making quality healthcare accessible to all.
Key Responsibilities
Nursing Administration & Leadership
- Supervise and manage all nursing staff across 80-bed capacity including 15 cabins
- Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and protocols
- Oversee nursing operations in OPD, ICU, Operation Theatre, and inpatient wards
- Conduct regular staff meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluations
- Manage nursing staff schedules, duty rosters, and leave planning
- Recruit, train, and mentor nursing personnel
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to NABH certification standards for nursing care
- Maintain compliance with SA8000 social accountability standards
- Implement and monitor infection control protocols across all departments
- Conduct regular quality audits and implement corrective measures
- Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of nursing records
- Coordinate with medical team for quality improvement initiatives
Patient Care Management
- Ensure delivery of compassionate, high-quality nursing care
- Monitor patient satisfaction and address concerns promptly
- Oversee specialized nursing care in ICU and post-operative units
- Ensure proper patient safety protocols and emergency preparedness
- Coordinate nursing support for laparoscopic surgeries and advanced procedures
- Manage nursing care for diverse patient populations
Operations & Resource Management
- Manage nursing supplies, equipment, and inventory
- Coordinate with pharmacy, laboratory, and other departments
- Oversee maintenance of nursing equipment and medical devices
- Ensure proper utilization of resources and cost-effective operations
- Manage nursing budget and expenditure control
- Coordinate with BLS ambulance services for patient transfers
Training & Development
- Develop and implement continuing education programs for nursing staff
- Ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements
- Conduct orientation programs for new nursing staff
- Organize skill development workshops and certification programs
- Maintain professional development records for all nursing personnel
Required Qualifications
Education & Certification
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc Nursing) - mandatory
- Valid nursing license and registration with State Nursing Council
- Master’s in nursing or Hospital Administration preferred
- Current CPR and Basic Life Support certification
Experience & Age Requirements
- Age: 45-55 years
- Minimum 7 years of experience as Matron in a 100+ bedded hospital
- Proven track record in nursing administration and staff management
- Experience in multi-specialty hospital environment
- Experience with NABH accreditation processes preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Retired personnel from Armed Forces Medical Services or Central Police Organizations (CAPF/CRPF Medical Services) strongly preferred
- Experience in government or corporate hospital settings
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements
- Experience with electronic health records and hospital management systems
