Role: Trade Product Manager – Transaction Banking
Location: Mumbai & Kolkata.

Grade to be hired:

  • Senior Manager

Budget : 17Lacs Max

Key Responsibilities

 

· Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management

o Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy for Trade Finance and SCF, aligned with the bank’s business goals and market trends.

o Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of trade products including:

Traditional Trade: Import/Export Letters of Credit (LC), Foreign Bank Guarantees (BG), Export Financing, Trade Credit.

Open Account & SCF: Supplier/Dealer Finance, Vendor Finance, SIF, PIF, Factoring, Reverse Factoring, LCBD, LC Confirmation.

o Identify market gaps, client needs, and regulatory changes to drive continuous product enhancement and innovation.

o Define pricing, profitability metrics, and product positioning to ensure commercial success.

· Correspondent Banking & Global Trade Enablement

o Build and maintain strong relationships with global correspondent banks to expand the bank’s RMA network and trade corridors.

o Propose and manage limit requirements for LC/BG issuance, acceptance, and overseas financing.

o Explore and develop business opportunities in GIFT City, including partnerships with international FIs and trade platforms.

 

 

· Cash Management Services (CMS) Integration

o Collaborate with CMS product teams to integrate trade and SCF offerings with payment and collection solutions.

o Drive bundled solutions for clients to enhance wallet share and stickiness.

· Business Performance & Revenue Growth

o Drive utilization of Non-Fund Based (NFB) limits in coordination with Wholesale Banking, Government Banking, Current Accounts, and Branch Banking teams.

o Achieve revenue and balance sheet growth targets for both Fund-Based (FB) and NFB books.

o Analyze and publish MIS reports to track product performance, identify growth opportunities, and support strategic decision-making.

o Identifying opportunities for new products, enhancing existing products, and ensuring alignment with market needs, regulatory requirements, and competitor offerings. Developing strategies that define market needs, target client segments, and growth opportunities along with Business numbers/ projections.

· Product Governance, Risk & Compliance

o Own and maintain all product documentation including Product Papers, PPAC, CRMC, SOC, COC, CSCB, PNC, etc.

o Ensure full compliance with RBI guidelines, FEMA regulations, and internal risk frameworks.

o Build robust operational processes and risk mitigants to safeguard trade transactions and ensure audit readiness.

· Project Management & Technology Enablement

o Lead trade & SCF product implementation projects from ideation to Go-Live

o Prepare BRDs/FSDs, coordinate with IT and Operations, drive UAT, and ensure timely deployment.

o Evaluate and onboard technology vendors for trade platforms, sanctions screening, E-BRC, TRRACS, SBLC issuance, e-BG etc.

o Sound knowledge in digitization and automation of trade workflows to improve TAT and client experience.

· Training, Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

o Conduct regular product training sessions for RMs, Operations, Branches, and other internal stakeholders.

o Develop and maintain training content, FAQs, and product notes for internal portals and external communication.

o Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for trade and SCF products, providing timely support and guidance to business teams.

· Quality Assurance & Client Experience

o Ensure zero customer complaints through proactive support, clear communication, and efficient transaction processing.

o Monitor and improve TAT for trade transactions in collaboration with Operations and Service teams.

o Maintain high standards of client service and responsiveness across all touchpoints.

Qualifications & Experience

 

· Education: Graduate/Postgraduate in Finance, Business, or related field. CA/MBA preferred.

· Certification: Candidates having certificates in CDCS / CSDG / CITF etc. will be preferred.

· Experience: 14–18 years of experience in Trade Finance and Supply Chain Finance under Transaction Banking.

· Domain Expertise:

o Strong knowledge of trade products, UCP 600, URDG, Incoterms, FEMA, and RBI guidelines.

o Experience in product development, project management, and regulatory compliance.

o Familiarity with trade platforms, digital banking tools, and global correspondent networks.

· Skills:

o Strategic thinking and commercial acumen.

o Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

o Analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel, PPT, MIS reporting, and business analytics.
