Job Purpose / Summary:

We are seeking an experienced IT Procurement Lead to join our large enterprise organization. In this critical role, you will drive strategic sourcing and vendor negotiations for various IT software, hardware, and services.

Candidate will partner closely with internal and external stakeholders such as IT, Finance, Legal and vendors to ensure cost-effective procurement decisions that align with enterprise standards, compliance requirements, and long-term technology strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end IT procurement processes for software licenses, hardware assets, and managed services across the enterprise.

• Develop and execute vendor negotiation strategies to achieve optimal pricing, terms, and service level agreements (SLAs).

• Manage the full vendor lifecycle including RF(x) creation, vendor evaluation, contract negotiation, and ongoing performance management.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key technology vendors and suppliers.

• Collaborate with IT, Finance, Legal, and business units to align procurement activities with organizational goals and budgets.

• Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to ensure competitive pricing and identify cost-saving opportunities.

• Oversee IT contract renewals, ensuring timely renegotiation and compliance with enterprise procurement policies.

• Maintain accurate procurement records, spend analytics, and vendor scorecards.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, data privacy standards, and internal governance frameworks.

• Mentor junior procurement staff and contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and tools.

Experience / Skillset / Certifications Required:

• 9–12 years of experience in procurement of which at least 5 years in IT procurement, strategic sourcing, or vendor management within a large enterprise environment in BFSI sector (Bank / NBFC / Insurance).

• Demonstrated success negotiating high-value contracts for IT software (SaaS/on-premise), hardware, and professional services.

• Deep knowledge of IT vendor landscape, licensing models (perpetual, subscription, enterprise agreements), and market pricing.

• Strong understanding of contract law fundamentals, terms and conditions, and risk management.

• Proficiency with procurement systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, ServiceNow, Oracle etc.) and spend analytics tools.

• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent procurement projects in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Graduate degree (any discipline) is mandatory; Post Graduate degree (PGDBM/MBA) is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPIM, CSCP, or similar.

• Experience with cloud procurement (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and software asset management (SAM).

• Master's degree or MBA is a plus.

• Additional qualifications / certifications in Supply Chain Management or Material Management will be an added advantage.

• Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of achieving favourable outcomes in high-value IT vendor contracts.

• Excellent presentation skills with the ability to prepare and deliver clear, data-driven presentations to senior and top management.

• Ability to effectively convince and influence top management on procurement outcomes, cost-saving initiatives, and strategic vendor decisions.

• Advanced MS Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data modelling, and spend analysis dashboards.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to manage cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
