Job Summary

The Credit Analyst – Mid Market Group is responsible for conducting detailed financial and credit analysis for mid-sized corporate clients to support lending decisions and portfolio management. The role involves evaluating financial statements, assessing industry and business risks, preparing credit proposals, monitoring existing exposures, and ensuring compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory standards.

The analyst works closely with Relationship Managers, Risk Teams, and Credit Approvers to facilitate prudent credit underwriting and portfolio growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Credit Analysis & Underwriting
  • Analyze financial statements, cash flow, profitability, leverage, liquidity, and debt servicing capacity of corporate clients.
  • Conduct credit risk assessments for new and existing borrowers.
  • Prepare detailed credit appraisal memos and recommendations for credit approval committees.
  • Assess borrower repayment capability using ratio analysis, financial modeling, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Evaluate collateral/security structures and covenant frameworks.
  • Portfolio Management
  • Monitor existing client portfolios and identify early warning signs of credit deterioration.
  • Conduct annual and periodic credit reviews.
  • Track covenant compliance and exposure limits.
  • Assist in portfolio stress testing and risk grading exercises.
  • Client & Industry Assessment
  • Analyze industry trends, market positioning, competitive landscape, and macroeconomic factors impacting clients.
  • Participate in client meetings alongside Relationship Managers when required.
  • Review business models, management quality, and operational risks.
  • Documentation & Compliance
  • Ensure credit proposals comply with internal risk policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Coordinate with legal, compliance, and operations teams for documentation and disbursement requirements.
  • Maintain accurate client and transaction records.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Support Relationship Managers in structuring financing solutions.
  • Liaise with Credit Risk, Operations, Trade Finance, Treasury, and Legal teams.
  • Assist senior bankers in deal execution and portfolio strategy.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.

MBA, CFA, FRM, or professional banking certifications preferred.

1–5 years of experience in corporate banking, commercial banking, credit analysis, or financial analysis.
